The ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Ethics Bowl Team placed third in the Regional Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl Competition in San Antonio, Texas.

The team competed against 28 teams from universities across five states: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana. The team has now qualified for participation in the National Ethics Bowl in Chicago in March.

Ethics Bowl competitions are held annually and are sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics. The teams argue and defend their moral assessment of some of the most troubling and complex ethical issues facing society while addressing an array of topics in business and professional ethics, and in social and political affairs.

The competition focuses on selected cases developed by APPE ethics faculty, researchers, and professionals and cover a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to business, law, medicine, political science and journalism. In the competitions, students demonstrate their ability to (1) understand the facts of the case, (2) articulate the ethical principles involved in the case, (3) present an effective argument on how the case should be resolved, and (4) respond effectively to challenges put forth by the opposing team as well as the panel of expert judges.
