Distinguished Scholarships

In order to help our students achieve their highest potential, OCU University has established the Distinguished Scholarship and Internship Office. We are here to provide information about national scholarships and internships as well as Oklahoma scholarship opportunities. Dr. Karen Youmans, the coordinator, offers advice to students on scholarship and intern preparation and assists students throughout the application processes.

Dr. Youmans and other faculty members help students develop strong and effective writing and interview skills to participate in national competitions. We also offer guidance to students about the ways students can, throughout their college careers, become academically successful and involved in co-curricular activities in order to be capable of achieving distinguished scholarships.

The career services office and this office coordinate efforts with The Washington Center to provide internships in Washington, D.C. for students in all fields. We help students prepare for and apply for internships with TWC. We are pleased to offer our students these life and career-enhancing opportunities in the nation’s capitol.

In Oklahoma we also promote and encourage student participation in the Oklahoma Scholar-Leadership Enrichment Program (OSLEP). This five-day seminar opportunity sponsored by the Oklahoma State Board of Regents is an outstanding scholarship opportunity. Dr. Youmans will provide information and assistance in applying for this program.
